Brand Summary: Level produces high-quality wood volumes designed by routesetters for routesetters. Founded by longtime climber and professional routesetter Mike Bokino, Level was built from decades of experience in gyms, competitions, and outdoor climbing across the U.S. and Europe. Mike’s work as a Director of Routesetting at one of the country’s largest gyms, along with experience setting IFSC World Cups and serving as a National Chief Routesetter for USA Climbing, shaped the design philosophy behind every Level product.

That experience shows in the details. From thoughtful geometry and edge radius, to screw placement, texture and durable construction, Level volumes are built to perform in both commercial gyms and high-level competitions while making life easier for setters.

After working closely with Mike and distributing the brand for years through Thread, Chris and Brad acquired Level and relaunched the line with a renewed focus on product refinement. Drawing on decades of combined routesetting experience, the team has worked to refine shapes, improve finishes and texture, and expand the catalog while preserving the core design philosophy that made Level a favorite among setters.

Today, Level continues to produce durable, thoughtfully designed wood volumes built to inspire movement and stand up to the demands of modern climbing gyms.

Our Thoughts:  From the geometry of shapes and texture down to the finest details, there’s thoughtful refinement in Level products. The placement of the screw washers to maximize functionality and durability (but minimize a climber crimping), sanding a “routesetter radius” on volume edges before texture finishing, giving a more comfortable and subtle grabbing surface to a shape, and custom touches with a wide range of colors or dual-texture options – all of our setting experience is passed along to customers when purchasing Level.
