Brand Summary: Cheeta’s story goes back a long way. Back in the 90's, in a french barn located in Burgundy "Bourgogne", home to the world's best wines.
Laurent Laporte, climber and competitor, started to shape and produce his own climbing holds to train with friends. He then became a very passionate setter, and one of the first international routesetters in history, regularly setting at major events. He became quite the specialist, notably for the first bouldering world cups.
Always looking to create new movements, he started to shape is own grips to make new movements possible. Those shapes were really technical and specific, hence the aesthetics being directly inspired from the ones you could find while climbing outdoors. However, as time went on, he decided to focus more on how “space defines the movements”.
Following this evolutionary logic, Cheeta started to offer shapes allowing the setters to create unique movements.
However, always looking to experiment we started to create even newer generations of interconnected holds and volumes making for an endless combination of possibilities and a very wide range of difficulties altogether with the same material.
To give life to our concepts we have to constantly push the boundaries of innovation in the climbing industry. This has lead Cheeta to be recognized as one of most innovating climbing holds companies in the world.
We innovate in our ways to shape, to imagine new combinations for our products, in the materials we use as well as for our production processes. All of that with one goal in mind; to give the possibility to any routesetter to "Shape the movement" .
